Let\u2019s take a look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before we start with any methods, make sure you take all the safety precautions necessary. 2,4-D can be very hazardous to your health, especially if you have kids or pets around. You can also add half a pint of Silvex to increase its efficiency, but this is optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spray the bottom 1 foot of the trunk with the solution and let it get absorbed by the tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The general rule of thumb is to use 3 fl. Oz. per inch of trunk diameter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cut-surface-treatment\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cut_Surface_Treatment\"><\/span>Cut Surface Treatment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cut Surface Treatment is also highly effective and extremely easy to perform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need an ax or a chainsaw along with a portable sprayer and 2,4-D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using an ax, make deep gashes into the trunk of the tree around its entire circumference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are dealing with a stump, make gashes on the top portion as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spray undiluted 2,4-D on these gashes until you can see the herbicide dripping from them. let the tree completely absorb this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure there is no wind, water, ice, or frost on the trees while performing any of these methods.
